Bishop Oswald Swartz writes:

On Friday I joined the pupils of the Grammar School on the Horseshoe as they became part of the wave of protest against the atrocities perpetrated by Boko Haram in the abduction of girls from their school in Nigeria.

It was good to see our young people being conscientised about this very serious crime affecting all of humanity .While we protested and pleaded for them to “Bring Back our Girls!” we also made it clear that it was not just about Nigeria, but also about our girls here in Kimberley, in our congregations and in Our Diocese and homes.

My prayer is that St Cyprian’s Grammar School will always be a safe haven for our girl learners especially, that we will not tolerate any type of bullying and that it will play a very positive role in instilling good “gentlemanly” values in our boys. We pray that they will be the generation that sets a solid platform for the respect for women and children and that the world will be a better and safer place because of our efforts in our own school.
